Kirsten and Scott headed up to the Inverness on Friday to meet with Highland Council and the fantastic Milburn Academy.
On Saturday they were delighted to attend the first HI_SGIL conference organised by Abby Wilson at Fujitsu. A whole host of global and Highland organisations attended the event to help people to discover how every day, innovative technologies are relevant to their career and the future of Highland industry.
Kirsten and Scott had a fantastic day and were delighted at the amount of interest they had in the Teach-IT resources. It was also fantastic to meet teachers from schools we already work with in the Highlands.
Kirsten and Scott was inspired by the turn out at the conference and look forward to next years. Thanks again to Abby for the invite. We especially loved creating our own Lego ducks.
Cool App:-
We met a lot of exciting companies and saw a lot of fantastic resources. One that caught our eye in particular was a new animation app called Smoovie. Smoovie enables you to make stop motion animations in minutes with nothing more than your iPad’s camera and a touch of imagination.
Scott and Kirsten were given a demo of the App by Karen McLean and were blown away of how easy the app made the animation process. Their exhibition space was full of young people engrossed in creating their own animations from the simplest of things. It’s an absolutely amazing app and definitely one which we will be highlighting to schools.

Thanks to Karen, Gavin and Gordon for popping over to see us.
Whilst you are here, I have posted my own creation using Smoovie below. It stars me (Doobs), a Lime, a Cat, Dog and Lion as well as a cameo from an Angry Bird.
Yes, it’s probably going to get you off your seat dancing – ENJOY!
Why not send us your own Smoovie Movies:- I challenge you to beat ‘Gettin Do-Be With It’.
