How are you Using the Learn-It MP4s?
S4: Targeted pupils were offered use of MP4’s at home in period up to and including Prelim exams.
S2: Use being trialled with one English class in teaching of a novel.
Did your staff recieve training
Yes. Stephen trained whole staff at the end of the pupil training day.
Are your teachers confident in using the technology?
Varied. Some very confident; a majority reasonably confident; small minority not at all confident.
Do Staff share knowledge acquired through the project with other staff?
This has not happened yet.
Have your pupils engaged with the technology?
Not yet, we plan to implement this after summer.
Have our services complimented your approach to this project?
Yes. All S4 pupils have been given website details. Have not yet evaluated this.
How else might we support you in making this project a success?
No need so far.

How are you Using the Learn-It MP4s?
P1 have used the resource to help learn key words for their reading books.
Did your staff recieve training
All staff attended a twilight training session. It allowed all staff to be introduced to the new resource.
Are your teachers confident in using the technology?
Teachers who have used the resource are, but we feel that a more focused input is required with 1 or 2 staff members at a time.
Do Staff share knowledge acquired through the project with other staff?
We are still at the early stages of using this resource and this is not yet appropriate.
Have your pupils engaged with the technology?
Yes –Used individually with headphones. Used as a group with resource on a speaker.
Have our services complimented your approach to this project?
Yes. Good introduction and continued support for teacher who is piloting resource.
How else might we support you in making this project a success?
To work with individual class teachers on activities for their class/pupils. This would highlight practical ideas for staff as it can be time consuming to prepare for a group when unsure of technology.

How are you Using the Learn-It MP4s?
We have given them to 30 S4 pupils on permanent loan. They are spending time in Learning Support working on developing them.
Did your staff recieve training
Yes, Stephen did a successful lunchtime session with interested staff and he has offered to return when more training is required.
Are your teachers confident in using the technology?
Not yet! There have been further discussions about this and we may contact you again in the near future.
Do Staff share knowledge acquired through the project with other staff?
Not in any formal way yet but it is hoped that they will soon be sharing good practise.
Have your pupils engaged with the technology?
Yes – for the most part. We have not done any reconciliation work on progress but there appears to be a marked improvement in the motivation of some of the pupils.
Have our services complimented your approach to this project?
Yes. We would not have contemplated going down this route without the help of your services.
How else might we support you in making this project a success?
I will be needing some further training for staff in the future and may consider another session with the pupils too.

Thanks for providing our pupils with an excellent start to their new courses. Stephen has really fired them up and motivated them for senior school.

How are you Using the Learn-It MP4s?
With 12 dyslexic pupils in P4 - P7 (age 8 - 12). Every Thursday we attend an MP4 player after-school club and use it at home and in class across all subjects.
Did your staff recieve training
Yes, Stephen Reid initially introduced the Learn-Its through staff training. I now co-ordinate children and staff in using the MP4s. It has been a success.
Are your teachers confident in using the technology?
Some are and others are not but I am positive this is more about the attitudes of teachers and I am offering help and support to all staff.
Do Staff share knowledge acquired through the project with other staff?
Yes, mainly through word of mouth, Emailing and we are considering howe to use GLOW to help share info.
Have your pupils engaged with the technology?
Yes, very much so...Using the recording facility to record instructions, times tables, spelling words as well as organising their school day, topic work and personal talks.
Have our services complimented your approach to this project?
Yes, training, troubleshooting, advice, customer support...endless. Great to have Stephen and Louise to initially enthuse and interest the children and staff.
How else might we support you in making this project a success?
Possibly taking the MP4s to the next level e.g Staff training in podcasting and other fancy IT stuff :o)

Stephen - Do Be Ltd - We can help here using a number of solutions...we can work with your teachers to produce podcasts using our own professional recording team, we can source good quality and reasonably priced recording equipment for you and train your staff in it's use or we can
look at setting you up with a series of cheaper solutions (possibly free) that will do the trick but will not produce great quality.
