Our 4Gb MP4 Players provide a number of functions over and above our content that can be used to engage students and encourage enterprising learning and teaching in the classroom.

Audio playback
This allows pupils and teachers to gain access to audio material from a wide variety of sources. This material can then be learned and revisited as and when required both in and out of the classroom. Schools throughout the UK are using this function in a multitude of ways, these include:

• To sustain and support the schools Study Skills program.

• As a library resource on which topical material or audiobooks can be loaded.

Video playback
The video function brings learning to life. Teachers and pupils are able to view visual content as part of the learning and teaching process.

• Secondary Chemistry students for example, can video record experiments, load them onto the Learn-It and revisit those experiments right up to their exams.

• Primary pupils can video animation, school shows/trips and enterprise activities and relive those experiences with parents and friends.

Image Viewer
This function allows teachers to display still images that reinforce learning objectives.

• Secondary Art students are known to use this function to view images of paintings as part of their art history.

• Primary teachers are using this function to help pupils with word and number recognition.

Voice Recording
The built-in voice recording function allows pupils and teachers to easily create their own audio material.

• Secondary schools are using this function in a variety of ways including self and peer assessment across all subjects, the creation of study revision notes by both teachers and pupils, repetition and pronunciation in modern languages, understanding poetry and prose in English, pre-recorded lessons to assist with the time constraints of bi-level teaching and much more.

• Primary schools are using this function primarily for rote learning and in assisting children with a variety of additional learning needs.

Note Book
The Note Book function allows students to read documents and notes. Students across the country are creating their own revision notes and placing then onto the Learn-It. From there the notes can be revisited as often as necessary in the build up to exams.

The above are just a few examples of enterprising ways in which the Learn-It can be used to engage students and enhance learning.
